Gearing Up For Winter

It’s that time of year, the first snow has fallen.  This first part of winter is actually really enjoyable on multiple fronts.  The holidays are right around the corner, which usually means gathering with family members and taking a little time off from work.  I’m certainly planning on both as my workload has been on [...]

Juniper Mae – 1.5 Years and Running

It is a little less than 18 months since Juniper Mae Ed was delivered into this world to a tear stricken father and exhausted mother.  Her little misshapen head proved malleable enough to restore itself to it’s healthy rounded expectation shortly thereafter.  The bright red spot which developed a few weeks later above her right [...]

Aging and Mortality Warning Signs

About three weeks back Teresa and I were doing some landscaping work in the back yard, I was digging up some of the dirt by the new shed.  The ground level was too high to open the door on the shed during winter, which inhibited being able to drive through the shed with the snowblower. [...]

Happy Mother’s Day

I called Mom this morning and think she appreciated it.  My parents were here this last week to watch Juni as our daycare provider had vacation planned.  Having some help around for those situations really does mean a lot–thanks Mom and Dad!
Today is a special Mother’s Day as it’s Teresa’s first with Juni in the [...]

The long times

It’s been quite some time since writing something of substance, or at least a grouping of written ideas of substance.  The times, they are a changin’.
Juniper is still yet to fully bloom, but she is bright and amazing and temporal and all encompassing.  She really is an amazing little thing.  Skinny like a spindle.  Smiling [...]

A Trip To Detroit Lakes

A few weeks back Teresa, Juniper, my brother in law David and his fiance Stephanie got in the car at about 7am and started driving to Detroit Lakes.  The city is in the heart of rural Minnesota, surrounded mostly by farm land and a few lakes.David actually drove the first leg.  It is a four [...]

The Last Month

It’s been too long since getting some words down on pixel.
On the family side, we’ve continued to work to get my father in law back up to speed.  He is now home and working on restoring his cardiac health with doctors up in Cloquet.  In short, it’s been a scary experience that reminds of the [...]

One Week In Florida – With An Unexpected Ending

Every two years, Teresa’s family gets together and does a vacation somewhere fun.  Two years ago, it was North Carolina on the Outer Banks.  This year it was the Gulf Coast of Florida, in a town called Clearwater.  We spent the last seven days there hanging out and visiting the beach, looking for sea shells.
Growing [...]

First Father’s Day – and the 32nd

Woke up today thinking about Dad.  My father is 68 as of a few days back, truthfully I struggle to remember his age and have to ask near every year.  I wonder if he knows mine?!  :-)  It may be just a personality flaw, I do not remember dates, numbers and the like easily.  Some [...]

Welcome Home Juniper Mae

Well Tempo has officially arrived–and she has been named Juniper Mae.
Say hello to the world.

Juniper was 6lb 8oz and 19 inches long at 3:29pm on May 23rd.  She is our first child and already too cute for her own good.  The labor started at about 3am Friday night and continued for roughly 12.5 hours.
The process [...]
