Blog Slowed-But Just Tempo Rarily

No posts last weekend due to Tempo birthing class.  The class talked about the process of labor, everything that happens and it was actually really good.  It did take 7 hours.  We also took a trip up North for my father in law’s 70th birthday!  That was a lot of fun.  However due to that [...]

7 Years at Redmarketer

It has been a full seven years since I began writing here on redmarketer.  At the time of inception, this blog was mostly oriented around marketing in the new age.  Digital presence for most companies was still relatively nascent.  I worked at a small company at that point but was readying myself for business school [...]

Long Term Goals

At the start of the year I wrote a lot about short term goals–things to be achieved for this year.  It’s something that has become part of my life, looking at what’s happened in the past year and setting a course for improvement over the next.  It’s really enjoyable, and much like this blog, gives [...]

2015 Goals

The post yesterday was predicated on how well we did in accordance to goals set a year ago.  Not bad overall, though not perfect either.
2014 was a year that for me was somewhat “in the weeds”–I had a few posts covering off on how I didn’t seem to have time to post as much for [...]

The Year in Review: 2014 Goals

I’ve had a particularly long amount of time to consider the last year and am planning on a pretty extensive recap.  New Year’s Eve is tomorrow and there is a great deal to consider both in recapitulation and preparation for the next year–which I’ll go out on a limb and state will be the most [...]

Editing and Time

I just realized why time is so crucial to writing, which is sad given how obvious this is.
When you initially write something, the writing is usually full of emotion…from something.
It may be emotion of remembrance or the elation of “discovering” an idea.  Discovering something in your own mind is after all as invigorating as anything [...]

Time to Get Back to Conversational

I haven’t written a lot lately, and part of that is due to the idea of writing more in depth and “professional” posts.  Of course, that’s antithetical in nature to why this site was built and what it’s supposed to be for.  This is not a professional site and it’s not supposed to be, so [...]

Taking the Summer Off

For whatever reason, I haven’t found the time to write all summer.  Tons of stuff going on and just trying to keep up with all the work around the house and travel with the new role at work.
So I decided to take a break.  Not sure when I’ll be back, but likely in the fall/early [...]

Getting Older with Fewer Interests?

Since basketball has ended and my beloved Timberwolves retired to their dens to lick reopened wounds, I’ve been mulling about the apartment with less to do.  It struck me the other day that my habits have changed a great deal.
My youthful pursuits included wakeboarding and tubing, basketball, videogames, ladies, kicking it with friends, frisbee golf [...]

Posting Video in Wordpress Is a Pain

Embedding video into this site needs to be done in HTML.  It’s not an issue on it’s own, but every time you update a post for a typo or other alteration, the embedding disappears.
Frustrating.
